Welcome to 48 State Street, a 651 square foot piece of the historic Jacob S. Winslow Block in Portland's Deering Street Historic District. This home is small in footprint but big on detail. The front bedroom is filled with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the brick sidewalk and beautifully maintained neighborhood street, with a fireplace as its focal point and a Rinnai heater to keep things cozy year round. A pocket door leads into the parlor or living space, with the bathroom and two closets tucked just beyond. The warm, traditional galley kitchen includes a pantry and the perfect spot for a little bistro table. Throughout, intricate woodwork, crown molding, period lighting and pocket doors bring the craftsmanship of another era into a home ready to be designed for right now. Outside, the Queen Anne style brick building is a true neighborhood standout, with dedicated parking for one, guest parking and peekaboo water views from the front entrance. Double doors add an extra layer of security, while the historic details do the rest. The location is hard to beat for those who love exploring Portland on foot.
