Soaring 10 foot first floor ceilings create a sense of scale. A spacious formal dining room and gracious formal living room retain original plaster walls and historic character. The inviting pub room is a gathering space with cabinetry, storage, beverage refrigerator, quartz countertop and room for a pub table. From here, the home flows into the NEWER and STUNNING kitchen, completely renovated in 2020 with white cabinetry, quartz countertops, tiled backsplash, farm sink, newer stainless steel appliances, pantry, pullout drawers and soft close cabinetry. A generous breakfast bar opens to the enormous family room, where barn doors conceal built in lockers, storage and laundry, and also direct access to the covered rear patio makes indoor and outdoor entertaining effortless. There is also a half bathroom on this level. A substantial two story addition, constructed approximately ten years ago by respected local builder Bud Graves, was carefully designed to complement the architecture and maintain the integrity of the original residence. With its own private entrance, as well as access from the family room, the first floor of the addition offers a large living area, kitchenette with refrigerator, countertop and cooktop, and a full bathroom designed with accessibility in mind. A separate staircase leads to the second floor of the addition, currently used as a spacious primary suite with high ceilings, large closet and private full bath. The bathroom also has plumbing and space for an additional washer and dryer. This suite connects to the original second floor through a flexible room ideal for an office, gym, nursery, sitting room or dressing room. Additional bedrooms and an updated full bathroom are also found on this level. The 3rd floor offers two nicely sized bedrooms with recently replaced windows, a built in dresser and enormous attic storage. Outside, the expansive, private and fully fenced backyard features a liner pool with walk in steps at both ends, koi pond, covered patio, large lighted storage shed and a second floor balcony overlooking the grounds. The redone fiberglass deck is in excellent condition, portions of the fencing are newer, and a large double gate allows easy yard access. Driveway parking accommodates approximately eight vehicles, with additional land to the right offering potential for further expansion. Additional features include hardwood and luxury vinyl flooring, hot water baseboard heat, central air in the addition, a mini split in the rear family room, updated bathrooms and preserved original details. The property also holds a documented place in Northfield history.
